What’s Your Purpose?
Recently, I was having lunch with some friends and everybody’s current level of fitness came up during our conversation. After my buddy Greg & his lady friend Ashley explained how out of shape they felt & how much it upsets them, my other buddy Troy looks at me and says; “McCready, what the hell are you training for, anyway?”
Now, I could have said, “I’m a personal trainer, it’s my job brotha.” Or, I could have mentioned that I play rugby or the fact that my body is a sacred vessel (it is not me – it is a vessel of energy for me) that deserves to be treated as such. Or, the fact that mma aint for weenies, my brand revolves around being fit & healthy or as a mountain biker I don’t see myself flying down a hill at 40+ mph going off jumps with 25+ % of body fat. But I didn’t mention any of these things.
I proceeded to explain to the group that the one and only thing that I train for is LIFE! All of the aforementioned are just a part of my life.
The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose. I train to assist & enhance that purpose. What do you train for?
