After high school, I gained a bunch of weight. I had originally planned to bulk up to continue playing rugby in Northern California, but got hurt during the off season and was unable to train which resulted in weight gain and laziness. Though I got up to 250 pounds, it didn’t last long as I had a few tricks up my sleeve from years on the training grind and quickly dropped nearly 80 lbs in under 6 months. I started testing different foods and exercise methods and realized that with certain diet plans I was losing just as much if not more weight than I was with my training.
What if somebody told you that you can eat and then still lose weight?!
As it turns out, you can effectively with the proper fat loss foods, but you obviously just need to know which foods are the fat loss foods. That’s the purpose of this informative piece so keep reading to discover what you can eat in order to lose fat!
The first on this fat loss foods list may seem obvious so much so, you may be asking yourself, €œHow could I have missed it?!€
Whole Grain Bread
The first food to help you lose fat is whole grain bread, not just any bread, but whole grain. The seeds provide a nutritional benefit and the high content of fiber helps, too. In addition, whole grain bread features a low GI content (glycemic index content), which makes this a great fat-loss food.
The next food on this fat loss foods list is fish, but not just any fish: salmon! Salmon is a great choice to help you get rid of unwanted fat because it is actually full of good fats that help you to lose weight! Not only is this fish simple to prepare, but it makes for a delicious and cost-effective meal if paired with choices such as brown rice and vegetables. For example, a salmon steak can be covered, put on a microwaveable dish and then cooked in the microwave in just a few minutes.
Broccoli also makes the cut in this fat loss foods compilation. While some people may be a little bit picky about how this vegetable tastes, you should allow the taste to grow on you. If you do, you can enjoy the fat-loss benefits of this vegetable because it is a zero-fat and low-calorie choice that is packed with essential vitamins. The good part about broccoli is that it makes for a great accompaniment to nearly every meal, and it is also great as a filling for various types of foods.
Fat loss foods do not just include vegetables like broccoli, whole grains and fish. If you want some more meat in your diet while still selecting a fat-loss food, you can always go with chicken. Just make certain that the chicken is lean, which means that it should not have any fat or skin on it. Chicken is filling, high in protein, tasty and even versatile for use in many dishes. Try some of my tasty, lean chicken dishes for lunch or dinner!
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
This is somewhat of a secret, though it shouldn’t be. Extra virgn coconut oil, when consumed daily, can lead to huge curves in your hunger cravings and massive losses in fat and overall bodyweight. The texture might take a couple of days to get used to, but it is worth it in the long run. If you make eggs or cook with any type of oil or butter try substituting it with extra virgin coconut oil. Fortunately for our health, lauric acid is also found in both breast milk and coconut oil. Lauric acid transforms when consumed into a substance called monolaurin, the actual compound responsible for helping to strengthen the immune system.
Finally, this list of fat loss foods would be incomplete without the inclusion of yogurt. You see, you can also increase your dairy intake while eating foods to lose fat. High in protein, yogurt is appropriate for many mealtimes throughout the day. It is good for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner and even as a snack. Just be certain that you purchase the low-fat yogurt variety in the store.
To your fitness success!
