Welcome to GSI!
Over the past few posts we’ve talked about the basics of weight training, cardio and nutrition. We’re going to delve deeply into these topics pretty soon here so you can acieve BIG-TIME results! BUT none of this means “jack” if you can’t find some motivation and apply the advice.
Look around and you’ll start to notice that motivation is a key player in people’s results, good or bad. Most people have somewhat of an idea of basic weight loss – good nutrition and exercise. They could always just visit a website like this if they wanted to know the insider secrets of getting absolutely ripped. 😉
That’s why I know you’re different. I know you’re motivated because you’re here right now reading this. Just knowing you’ll have regular new posts(lessons if you will), to look forward to each week is enough to motivate you to keep going. But you’ll learn even more motivation tricks as the weeks go on. We’re just barely gettin started!
Now here are some motivational tips to get you going…
Take pictures and measurements today. Take pics of yourself (just wearing shorts) from all angles – front, back and both sides. You may not like looking at these pics today, but several months from now you’ll be amazed at what you used to look like!
Find a good reason to get in shape. This should be a reason with a deep emotional hook. Meaning you feel really strongly about it every time you remember the reason.
Write down your goal. Then post it someplace where you can see your goal every day. Whenever you see your goal, be sure to imagine what you’ll feel like when you achieve it. Tapping into that emotion is a key to keeping you moving forward! Visualization is huge.
Find someone who inspires you. Finally, see if you can’t find somebody that inspires you. Could be someone you met at the gym. Maybe someone you’ve seen online. Regardless, find someone who used to look like you (or worse) and now looks the way you want to look. If he can do it, so can you!
Well my dude that’s it for now. Stay tuned for more.
