Anabolic Dieting With Game Strength Insider

The Anabolic Diet That Works

Posted on by in Building Muscle, Nutrition, Strength Training

Welcome Back to Game Strength Insider

I’ve put together a simple example of how to achieve an anabolic state with your diet by simply increasing protein intake. At the beginning of the anabolic diet, you consume 40g of protein at each of six meals. Four weeks in, boost your protein intake by 20g at each of the first five meals, resulting in an increase over the initial 100g daily.

Insider tip 1: Protein from whole foods should serve as your main source, supplemental protein in the form of powders can help round out your nutrition plan.

In the following chart you’ll see a standard dieting technique of tapering carbohydrate consumption over the course of the day. As the day and your energy needs wind down, protein intake becomes more predominant.

Here’s an example of an anabolic diet. Check it out!

                                                INITIAL DIET                               HIGHER-PROTEIN DIET

Meal 1                      40 g protein                                            60 g protein

                                  80 g carbs                                               80 g carbs

Meal 2                       40 g protein                                               60 g protein

                                 70 g carbs                                                  70 g carbs

Meal 3                      40 g protein                                           60 g protein

                                   50 g carbs                                                50 g carbs

Meal 4                       40 g protein                                               60 g protein

                                50 g carbs                                                   50 g carbs

Meal 5                      40 g protein                                            60 g protein

Meal 6                       40 g protein                                                40 g protein

TOTALS                 240 g protein                                          340 g protein

                                    250 g carbs                                              250 g carbs

Insider tip 2: While on these diet plans, don’t forget to bump up your intake by several hundred calories for one day every fourth or fifth day.

*First three weeks, approximately 2.00 calories daily

**Starting four weeks into diet plan, approximately 2400 calories daily.

This is a solid example of how to reach an anabolic state through your diet. Give this a try and let me know how the anabolic diet works out for you.

Day 2 of the anabolic diet… I am feeling strong and rejuvenated… My arms feel tight like I have a postworkout pump. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or if it’s directly related to the diet, but I will keep you posted!
