Strength training builds much more than muscles and I can attest to this personally. If it weren’t for strength training I may never have figured out how to successfully channel my high levels of energy in a positive way.
I was able to teach myself how to adapt and overcome obstacles during training and this directly affected my life outside of the gym.
Everyone knows, or has an intuitive feeling, about the benefits of strength training, and how it makes you look and feel great. However, it has tons of benefits beyond just the obvious, and we’ll take a look at them now.

Strength training helps you keep up a desired weight. It’s a superb way to enhance the metabolic rate, and it will help your body burn a lot more calories during the day. It will also add to your lean muscle mass and your overall strength as well. Â Not to mention the awesome energy boost you’ll inevitably receive.
Strength training will also increase bone density. Along with eating plenty of calcium, and also consuming the full spectrum of minerals and trace elements, strength training will help you have increased bone density.
As you age, over enough time, inactivity can make your bones become less dense and a lot more brittle, and it can then lead to diseases like osteoporosis, as well as being at a much greater risk for injuries too. When you do strength training on a regular basis, research has shown that you can add to your bone density and also help stop osteoporosis too.

When you’re stronger, you will have better overall muscle tone and posture. All of these things will add up to some higher self-esteem and confidence. Strength training will help you age in a more graceful way too, and it will keep you more vibrant and alive.
With such compelling benefits, you might be wondering why you haven’t started a strength training regimen already. Perhaps it’s time to go into a gym and register for a membership or talk to a trainer about getting some gym equipment set up in a spare room in your house.
